“bon” means festival in japanese and on March 31 & April first that’s where I’ll be! At the Los Angeles Cherry Blossom Festival in downton Little Tokyo. I’ve been invited to present an exhibit of shibori in the Historical Pavillon. I attend this event every year and always enjoy the displays, the food and the entertainment. Taiko, martial arts includng shinkendo, yakitori, fashion shows, and just lots of fun. The Cherry Blossom Festival is produced by a 100% volunteer team and underwritten by private donations and sponsorships. WOW! Productions is the pro bono festival producer. Entrance is provided free to all attendees.
I will be presenting my work along with information and samples on the history of shibori. Additionally, I will have a small “make & take” for kids using food coloring allowing them to dye a small square of fabric resisted with a bead and some thread. Should be fun!

This is rockin’! I am hoping to attend this event.
Much fun….and the photos of the kids are terrific. This is something that most adults know little about, how wonderful for those children!
