recently when i was up north, i gathered a small amount of acorns. i wondered how they would work for a little shibori workshop i might teach next year. here is a page from the notes and swatches journal- (on old silk)

Had I known you were interested…. My parents said they had a huge crop of acorns this year. They’re edible also, I believe. I mean by people, not just those obnoxious squirrels.

maybe next year? currently my dogs are guarding the persimmon tree from pesky squirrels! if they don’t- darn squirrels will take a bite out of each and every one as they ripen!

I always thought squirrels were so cute, I guess that’s because we don’t have them in Australia! We have cute possums, they do the same sort of damage, they also will get into the roof to nest, I have one coming into my studio, through the adjoining garage! They make a mess and knock things over, really a nuisance even though they are cute!!
