controlling texture of shibori

This is an example of 3 pieces of the same dyelot. The center piece has been ironed flat, the right side texture is as it came off the pole, the left side was lightly steamed to release some of the texture. Some pieces just seem to need a little softening of the texture so as to better appreciate the patterning. Here you can see the three again:
my friend, the Jiffy Steamer:
I like to control the amount of texture I leave in a piece. Sometimes it comes out fine and sometimes I feel the piece is enhanced by releasing some of the texture.
