Suzuki Kanezo is also credited with creating the itajime shibori process during the time that he was working to revive the shibori industry in Arimatsu, Japan. This fold and clamp method of dyeing produces bold geometric designs. Any number of objects can be used to create the resists but traditionally, wood blocks were used.
