The finalized information for the 2013 Silk Study Tour is now available here. As always, we are exploring new silk related sites to visit and expand our knowledge about silk in Japan.

Hi Glennis – please put me on the info list for the 2013 tour. Becky
done! thanks Becky!
Please put me on the list. The dates for payment are still for the 2011 trip. Can you give some idea of when first and final payments are due for the 2013 trip?
gotcha diana- will post dates soon…likely to be similar to the 2011 tour.
I would so love to join you. I would be coming in from Australia is that a possibility?http://shiborigirl.wordpress.com/2013-japan-silk-study-tour/#comment-form-load-service:Twitter
no problem at all…join us from where ever you are. we will have a land only price for international tour mates.
Please add me to the list for the 2013 tour!
Please add me to your 2013 list, too. It’s such a fantastic opportunity.
Chimo,
Jennifer Cooper
Got it! Consider yourselves added. Thanks!
hello,
I would love to join your 2013 trip to Japan. I would be coming from England, would that be ok?
best wishes,
Paulein
I didn’t get a reply to my earlier message of 23rd October about the trip to Japan.
Paulein- I replied to you in a private email-perhaps it was blocked on your end. there is no problem in coming from the UK. will put your name on the list for further info once it comes out after the first of the year. thanks.
thank you very much
Paulein
I’d like to know more about the tour; where do I find out more about it? Thanks!
Please keep me posted–I’d be joining from Beijing. Thank you!
Please add me to the list.
Hi Glennis, Is there any chance to going to Arimatsu/Shibori Festival in 2013? I looked at your 2011 itinerary and that looked wonderful.
Frances, Los Angeles
the main tour does not include a trip to the shibori festival as it occurs June 1 &2 of 2013. Depending on the final tour dates (which will be set mid summer) I may include the possibility of an extension to see the festival. Hard to say at this moment though…
Do you have the dates for the 2013 trip yet? Thanks
Hi!
I just discovered your site. Is it too late to indicate an interest in the tour and be added to the list? Coming from central Indiana.
Caryl Hancock
not at all- did you add yourself to the constant contact email list here? be sure to check silk study tour…
Sending my money in for the 2013 tour!! YIPPEe!!
woohoo!!
Do you still have room for more?
as a matter of fact….there are two spots left…
Yay! I’m working out some details. I can go this year if things work out, or next year if they don’t. Should know soon. I know you’re getting down to the wire for reservations.
cool- let me know asap. and by the way, there is no silk tour next year.
I am so sad to hear that there will be no tour next year! I just put it on my “to do” list. I just could not do it this year. Thanks for keeping me posted!
this has never been an every year tour- so far, just every other year…
Hi Shibori girl.
I’m enjoying your news so much, I’m dreaming about the Japan trip. I look forward to seeeing more about it.
I had let you know that I was plannning to attend Carter Smith 2 dayt workshop at his home in main but we are 2 people short. If we don’t get two more it will be cancelled. So if you know anyone pass it on please.
I was hopeing you could direct me on somethingelse. I need a silk worm and silk pods for a demonstration. I have found some pet online shop that sells the reall ones but I was hoping for a fake one that would fit fill my palm. Can you direct anywhere for this?
Thanks
Karen
by silk pods do you mean cocoons? perhaps if you google silk cocoons. there are lots of sources. as for a silkworm model, I don’t have a source for this although I did make one of my own out of cocoons. if I come across a source I’ll post about it. will mention the CS workshop around.
